Exploring the Solar System

In the 6th grade orientation level, physics focused on the solar system in a very special way. Instead of just learning from a book or listening to frontal lessons, the pupils were allowed to get creative themselves - and the results were impressive!

The children prepared presentations in small groups, designed their own posters and even built a large model of the solar system. The planets were lovingly painted, some were designed in great detail and then arranged in the classroom. Particularly impressive: some groups installed fairy lights so that the "sun" and its planets could really shine. The result was a vivid model that not only conveys knowledge, but is also great fun.

The presentations of the individual planets were given by the pupils themselves. They gave talks, explained special features and shared exciting facts about Jupiter, Saturn and our Earth. The different approaches - crafting, designing, presenting and listening - made it a varied and lively lesson for everyone.

This project shows that physics does not have to be dry and theoretical. Topics such as the solar system are particularly well suited to being taught through creative work. The children not only learn facts, but also how to work in a team, how to present results and how much fun researching together can be.

In the end, everyone agreed that the solar system is not only fascinating in space - but also when you bring it into the classroom yourself!
