On a sunny Tuesday in September, the boys and girls of class 10b took their newfound sports knowledge to the field. Alongside their math and English teacher, the class compared Flag Football and Baseball in real life.
Baseball newbies hit the ball straight and found out, that there’s a batter deep inside of them. It took only a few tries, until they scored the first Home Run. Equipped with an original Wilson glove from Yankees stadium, some of them caught the balls easily. Some students even found out, that they have the guts to be a good pitcher. Even some curveballs were thrown.
Next to the young Yankees, people were able to see friendly tackling, strong kickoffs and most important: happy kids. Flags were ripped off and points scored. Offense and defense tactics were built up and both teams did their best to win. This ended in a joyful huddle, which was the main goal of the day: young adults growing together, relieving stress and just enjoy a couple hours together outside as a class.
During the daily dose of practicing final exams in their main subjects, this has been a welcomed change to the everyday life of a 10th grader.
